AMBLE is located 30 miles north of NEWCASTLE on the mouth of the river Coquet, just 8 miles from the A1 which makes places like NOTTINGHAM LEEDS &DONCASTER in the east, MANCHESTER WIGAN & PRESTON in the west and GLASGOW in the north all accessible within 3 hours by car .Ample free car parking is available on the quayside car park and the boat can be boarded 50 meters from your car, For easier boarding for those who are not so agile arrangements can be made to board in the marina.

There is a good selection of wrecks and rough ground within 10 miles of Amble so the most time spent steaming is only 1 hour so you spend more time fishing and diving than steaming.

Just I mile from AMBLE, lies COQUET ISLAND famous for its sea bird
Colony, which is a major nesting site for Puffins, Terns and Eider ducks.
There is also a very large Grey seal colony,which show great interest to visitors When you are aboard the UPHOLDER.

Just out to sea diving Gannets are very common in the summer months feeding on mackerel and herring sprats.

July and August time is the time that herring sprats arrive bringing in visitors such as COMMON DOLPHINS and the occasional MINKY WHALE.
